At national level the political and social climate has become for me, a woman of the left and environmentalist, to say the least "indigestible." The proliferation of smart and crafty, who screams louder, who takes pictures with the tissue to turn to those who insult others, who professed believer and then acting as a villain, who wants to impose its own model for all and demonizes those who think differently, who - as a man - wants to decide on the bodies of women - those who want to put a gun in the hands of kids - those who are proudly racist while denying it - the polluter and do all sorts of abuse and is unpunished - all those characters squalid and approved making only his own petty interests, no matter at whose expense.
This country do not like, its ruling class does not represent me, the dominant model is not only dangerous but is leading us over the abyss of a company Darwinian struggle for survival and devastation of the territory.
This is due to center-right government and the media complacent and complicit.
I would not really think that my city did the same sad end. Of course we are no longer an island happy here but the services still work, despite the heavy welfare cuts by the national government.
why I decided to engage in this campaign in support of the Mayor Delrio, who is the candidate that best embodies the power of ideas and the pragmatism of action, typical of our region of Emilia. Consistently in the list "Left and Greens" I intend to give my little contribution on the issue of labor and the environment, the livability of our neighborhoods, on the little things as well as on the major choices of the city and its citizens, new and old. I am proud of my
Reggio Emilia, I can speak in dialect and I love our kitchen but I also know English, I like to confront other cultures, meet new people, different from me but no less interesting. In a nutshell: I do not want a city-fortress of citizens only Reggio Emilia (Aryan), but a welcoming and multicultural city, with full respect for freedom and the rights and obligations by all.
The difficulties we are encountering, especially in terms of economic and social fabric of the estate, must be addressed together, with courage and consistency, without falling into the trap of war among the poor, which leads us to blame those who are made worse off than we - just for the spirit of revenge - be able to face the challenge of the crisis with a new vision and ethically correct way of life in the community, pointing to a redirection of production toward the so-called "green economy" that can bring new prosperity and proper development without harming the 'environment around us and that we have a duty to protect and preserve for our children. Let us not fall into the trap of easy recipes, the contemporary situation is complex and requires different solutions, thoughtful and above all courageous shared. Together we can make it.
